Bronte Mettlestone Family Book Club: Make a Treasure Chest Part 03

In this activity we thought it would be really fun to take inspiration from Bronte’s adventures and create your own Treasure Chest of Memories as part of the Bronte Mettlestone Family Book Club!

In the final part of this activity you get to put together the memory gifts you have brainstormed.

There are a number of ways you could do this:

• draw and colour each of the gifts onto a piece of card

• use some sort of modelling clay, like fimo, to create each of the gifts

• collect each of the actual gift ideas you had brainstormed

My daughter Lola decided she would create a watercolour painting of each of the gifts she had brainstormed. Once she had created the paintings, we let them dry and then I cut around each of the shapes.

Once you’ve collected each of your gifts, you can use our gift tag printable and write a tag out for each gift recipient. We’ve created a space for you to write the recipient’s name and the reason you have selected the gift to give them.

Now that you’ve finished putting together your Treasure Chest of Memories, what should you do?

Of course, you could keep your treasure chest of memories to yourself, and have it to look over and help you reminisce of special memories you have with people who mean a lot to you.

OR, you could be like Bronte and embark on your own extremely inconvenient adventures, and give each of the memories to the person who inspired them - imagine what a lovely gift that would be!
